Sidmouth v Cornwall Porthpean
On Thurs. May 20th. the Porthpean team from Cornwall Croquet Club travelled to Sidmouth. Sidmouth fielded a very strong team and at lunch after 4 doubles and 8 single games,the score was level, 6 games all.
Following lunch a further 8 singles games were played, Porthpean quickly going into the lead, Sidmouth fought back, levelled the score and the final singles game between Kathryn Smith of Porthpean, hdcp.10 and Keith Thurley, Sidmouth, hdcp. 7 became the deciding game. Keith was ahead by 3 hoops when time was called. The final score being Sidmouth 10 games to Porthpean 9 games with 1 game drawn.
Final Score: Sidmouth 10.5 Cornwall Porthpean 9.5
